Meet the Staff
When you are looking for sunglasses, eyeglasses, reading glasses or prescription sunglasses, the knowledgeable and friendly staff at the Sonoma Eyeworks optical center would love to take care of you.
There’s no substitute for experience…Our opticians boast many years in the optical field and each has received specialized training in both fundamental and advanced optical designs and procedures. Most of our staff maintains membership in the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) whose membership indicates the highest level of expertise.
Linda Guzzetta, founding member of the Sonoma Eyeworks® team. Her qualifications include: past owner of a high end optical shop in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood, and an instructor of Optical Lab Techniques at Cañada College in Redwood City. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry. On her leisure days off, she enjoys painting, knitting, gardening and traveling with her husband, François, and relaxing with her two Tonganese cats, Mia and Suki.

Cindy Harmon joined her husband, Michael in November of 2004. After 20 years of being a “Road Warrior,” she decided it was time to stay in one place! Cindy started her optical career in 1990 as an Account Executive with Varilux progressive lenses in Sacramento. When she moved to Santa Rosa in 1991, she was recruited by VSP to help develop the Sales and Marketing department at VSP Optical Laboratory. After seven years, she moved to Altair, VSP’s frame division, as a Regional Manager. Cindy enjoys gardening, exercising with Michael, visiting her family in Sacramento, and she recently became a grandmother!
Colleen Schuck brings with her over 20 years of experience to our team and is an American Board Certified Optician with an A. S. degree in Optometric Technology. Colleen enjoys helping her customers select the perfect eyewear while adding fun and enthusiasm to the experience. Colleen lives in Santa Rosa with her husband, Vern. At home they enjoy cooking and spending time in their garden with their Coton De Tulear pups.
Peter Kaspar joined the Sonoma Eyeworks® team in 2005 and has over 15 years of Optical experience. He is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and is a member of the National Board of Contact Lens Examiners. Peter enjoys helping customers find the perfect pair of eyeglasses and training customers on how to wear contact lenses. In his free time, he enjoys his family, wife, Tracy, son, Joshua and daughter, Emma. Peter is an avid hockey player who not only watches the game but plays competitively at Snoopy’s Ice Arena.
With ten years of experience in Customer Service, Julie Birdsall joined Sonoma Eyeworks® in 2006. A Healdsburg High graduate, Julie is passionate about music, enjoys DJ’ing, creative art projects, reading, hiking, snowboarding, getting together with family and friends and playing with her Boston terriers, Betty and Lola. Julie obtained her ABO certification from the National Board of Opticianry in July, 2010. Julie and her husband, Scott, welcomed a baby girl to thier family in June 2011.

Lori Borchers has over 20 years of experience in the optical field. A mom to Dalton and his big sister, Brice, she keeps busy with two young children. She enjoys being part of the Sonoma Eyeworks® family and recently obtained her ABO certification from the National Board of Opticianry in July, 2010. Lori and her husband, Brian, enjoy cycling, snowboarding, camping, gardening, and family.
Wendi Scruggs became part of the Sonoma Eyeworks® team in 2011, stepping into the role of Front Desk Manager. After relocating to Santa Rosa from San Francisco in 1991, she has spent the last two decades in Sonoma County cultivating her love of education, music, film and most importantly, her amazing daughter. She is appreciative to bring 10 years of administrative and customer service experience to Sonoma Eyeworks® and looks forward to a rewarding future working with it’s exceptional patrons and bright and committed staff of optometrists and opticians.
